Assignments and Information for the week of 2/23/09

This week we arrive at our destination: The Shapes of Algebra. With our linear tool kit intact we will begin investigating basic algebraic concepts. The foundation we build in the next 6-8 weeks is critical to a successful start when you reach the high school. Also this week we will begin to look at the stem cell research you have done in Science and see how we can represent that data as a graph for your Stem Cell Research Project.
Please remember to turn in assignments timely for full credit.

Assignments and Information for the week of 2/16/09

This week we will finish our quiz combining linear equations, then move on to solving linear equations with graphs and tables. Also this week we will begin to look at the stem cell research you have done in Science and see how we can represent that data as a graph. Next week we will do some interpreting of those graphs which should aid you in developing your project. Please remember to turn in assignments timely for full credit.

We are off to a good start. Balancing equations has been a little bumpy but our journey to the concept of Algebra will not be delayed. This week, in the book Say it with Symbols we will look at some situations that can be represented by equations. We will use those equations to predict the future (no crystal ball needed). Please remember to turn in assignments timely for full credit, only 3 days now.
