This week we will take our understanding of Linear Relationships and add the concept of SLOPE. Slope and the use of the y-intercept will help us to make educated guesses about the graph generated by a specific Linear Relationship, as well compare relationships to each other.

5/05/08 Grades and Expectations.
This is the last marking period for the year, and I believe it is very important that each student understands what is at stake for the remainder of the year. So today we will revisit the classroom expectations and I will have individuals discussions with everyone to talk about past performance and goals for this last six weeks.

All of these concepts are critical building blocks for your future math classes, so it is just as critical we make sure everyone understands the material. This week we will use the knowledge of Linear Relationships we used in our "Business Project" to solve other problems that are also Linear Functions. Questions we will encounter will be: If I give you a head start and I walk faster who wins a race?

We are selling t-shirts. How many do we need to sell before we make a profit?

As we investigate we will encounter terms y-intercept, and coefficient to go along with the variables (independent and dependent) we already know.
