This week of classes we will look into the other side of Growing, Growing, Growing, the concept of Exponential Decay. We will continue to focus on Growth Factors and Rates and the major difference growth and decay. Crossing over into the science community we will use the real world application of half life to illustrate the idea of Decay Factor. Remember this is the last week of the marking period. Please submit all assignments timely to ensure the highest level of credit.

During this short week of classes we will do our last bit of growing in Growing, Growing, Growing. We will focus on Growth Rates and use a real world application of dealing with bank interest rates or computing sales tax. To aid us in this investigation we will continue our review of decimals, fractions, and percentages and how to convert one to another.

Assignment and Information for the Week of 11/12/07

This week we continue the unit on exponential functions in Growing, Growing, Growing. Now that we have an understanding of what happens in an exponential function we can look further into the causes and effects with Growth Factors and Growth Rates. We will use several different exercises to discuss these new topics.This week we will look at situations that have fractional growth. To aid us in this investigation we will review the concepts of decimals, fractions, and percentages. an existing condition and see how that effects our graph. This will also expose us to the complete generic equation for an exponential function. We will compare this to the linear model for similarities and differences.
