Assignments and Information for the week of 5/25/09

13 schools days and counting. We will say farewell to our Filling and Wrapping friends, but only after we use the knowledge we have gained from them to put together our Biotech project work.

How did the test go? Do you know how to make a net for any three dimensional figure? How does the shape of a building effect its "greenness?"

Assignments and Information for the week of 5/18/09

And then there were 4 weeks left. In Filling and Wrapping, we will become builders of three-dimensional figures. This weeks info is also important for the Bio-tech Project for comparison research. Next week we will use this work as part of your research for your project. Remember the project is due June 4th.

How are you doing? Are you current with all your work? Is your binder ready for the Test this week? A good idea might be to make your own "can" list.
Have a great week.

Assignments and Information for the week of 5/4/09

Here we are, the last marking period before the summer. Hard to believe only 6 weeks left. It is however just enough time to learn a few things about Geometry. We will return to an old friend in Filling and Wrapping, which investigates three-dimensional measurements. This first week is important in that it is the knowledge you need for the Bio-tech Project this time around.

Part of getting through this marking period is to prepare yourselves for your high school experience. For this class it means shrinking the homework window even further. You now only have 2 days to turn in an assignment, so you must stay on top of your assignments. Remember if I have not returned an assignment the next day, I will not give you another. This way we both have a stake in the plan.

Assignments and Information for the week of 3/9/09

We had a great first week in The Shapes of Algebra. Now it is time to find out how great. This week we will assess our work with inequalities with a QUIZ.
Here is your CAN list:
  • Can you create an equation to represent a given situation?
  • Can you tell the difference between a variable and fix cost (or income)?
  • Can you solve for "X" in an equation or an inequality?
  • Can you create a number line representation of an inequality solution set?
  • Can you define the terms inequality and solution set?

If you can, then you will be successful. Remember the grade book is closed for all assignments except your project and the quiz, so please take the time to review and do the Quiz worksheet.
